Background: He originally lived in San Francisco, California but when he was rather young he moved up to Massachusetts to a little suburban place called Peach Creek. There he met two other boys who also seemed to have the name Ed! Except his is with two d’s, not one. Since then he and his friends Ed and Eddy have attempted (and almost always failed) to scam kids out of their money, despite his morals. He seems to be fine with most girls but certain personality traits set him on edge since the Kanker Sisters showed up into town...or well more so showed up in their lives. Edd doesn’t like to be forced into anything.

Edd never really had good relations with his parents, and are seemingly never home as Edd has to take care of himself; in fact he converses with them through sticky notes. He is neurotic, or well he suffers from neurosis despite it being no longer in scientific use. He has a tendency to be obsessive compulsive with cleanliness, anxious and often times this dominates his personality a bit too much - his clumsiness comes in to play here too. He actually took out Lee and May Kanker, Rolf, Jonny, and his best friend Ed in a period of a week by mere accident.

After being guilt tripped, used, abused, stepped on, and belittled by his friends for Eddy’s obsession with obtaining money (which...consists mostly of quarter.) and jaw breakers, he attempted to cut off relations once they entered high school. This failed miserably as it fell back into the same old routine. Scam the kids. Get the money. Spend it on something cheap. Eddy often times used Edd’s skills as a mechanic to his advantage however it wasn’t until Rolf and Kevin pointed out (since they actually don’t mind Edd as much as the other two) that Eddy really didn’t care for him other then to use him for his skills at taking ordinary house hold objects and turning them into elaborate machinery.

It was the end of his freshman year of high school when things took a turn for the worse. While Ed was still his friend, Eddy would continually ask him for help on the latest scam ideas as they actually worked this time. They weren’t so juvenile; however Edd’s behaviour had been strange all morning after talking with Eddy. Rolf had mentioned the sock-head Ed-boy ripping up a placemat and leaving it upon the ground like a trail and a really odd shadow following him. Nazz noticed Edd’s disregard for the books he loved so much, and Ed, who is a bit slow, noticed something wasn’t right. It wasn’t until he started to destroy Sarah’s personal diary (in which was why Ed knew something was up) that Kevin and Rolf took it into their owns hands and took Double D to see the school nurse.

While normally passive in nature, Edd does have a slight aggressive side - however it’s mostly verbal but with that in mind Kevin left school that day with several scratch and bite marks, Rolf with a black eye, and Eddy was already raking in money from the ordeal. His unusual personality change was brought up with the school and after talking with some officials it was determined that Eddward was possessed by a ghost of the sort (or was suffering from a mental break down from the lack of his parents being in his life and Eddy’s constant taking advantage of him) as he has no recollection of what had happened…over the last three days. He was recommended to attend Meillure on the off chance they were right about the supernatural powers. If not the academy could send him back and send him to therapy. They couldn’t rule out that their best student was a bit more special then they thought...or that he was finally going crazy from the pressure and stress.
